Meet
Our
Founder

Hello, my name is Renee Rochin and I am the founder of the Altruistic Movement Women's Sober Living. I am a sister, a daughter and a mother to 3 amazing boys. I am also a recovered alcoholic! For over a decade I suffered like so many from the disease of Alcoholism. I felt so alone, scared, ashamed, and totally broken. I was so lost and confused on what was happening to me and why I couldn't stop drinking and hurting myself and those around me. I tried to get help. I went to several treatment facilities and very nice ones at that. I sought out several doctors looking for hope and answers. I would get to treatment centers, get into therapy, get some help be given some very good tools, be given some great medicals advise even medically detoxed to feel physically better. I would do great while in treatment as I liked to think a great student and patient but unfortunately every time I would go home within days, weeks or months, I was drinking again. Killing myself slowly and couldn't figure out why? Well, in my last treatment facility, I was asked to do something different. I was told to try sober living for a while and see if that made a difference in my recovery. It chammy life!
I won't pretend that it wasn't one of the scariest things that I ever did to leave my home and my 3 boys
and try something new but I thank God everyday for guiding me on that decision. In sober living I was given the opportunity to take the tools from treatment and apply them to my everyday life in an accountable setting, supported by women who had taken that brave step before me. For the first time, in my life I finally felt understood and supported in a real life setting. It gave me the time I needed to focus solely on living in recovery in a practical setting. I met woman that to this day are apart of my life that I love and we continue to support each other long after our time in sober living. Today I live independently, I get to be the daughter, sister and mother I always wanted to be. Im surrounded and supported by so many amazing people. I have an amazing career, I give back to my community every opportunity I get, I am a business owner, I sponsor women in recovery and most importantly I live a life free from alcohol and today I get to say I live in long term recovery!
